The Chapman Regatta 2023
I had a great time sailing the weekend of June 10-11 at the Bay Waveland Yacht Club. They were the host for this year’s Chapman Regatta where four Gulf Coast clubs competed in four classes of boat. The boats for this year were Flying Scot, 420, Laser, and Hobie Wave.
History of the Chapman Regatta
The Chapman Regatta is believed to be the oldest consecutively sailed interclub Team Racing contest in the United States. You can access the historical archives here.
My Home Yacht Club
My home yacht club, the Ocean Springs Yacht Club, took 1st place in the Hobie Wave class. I sailed in the 420 class, where we placed 4th.
